Tonight at 8.00pm we will be showing our grateful thanks
for all the carers in our NHS, carers in care homes and in the community,
teachers and those working in our shops. They are all on the front line, not
only looking after us all but also at greater risk of catching the virus.
The statistics from the government indicate that the
number of people contracting Covid-19 is increasing, along with the resultant
deaths – including many medical staff – and we are thankful for all who work to
support and give care, as individuals and through the different organisations, often
making great personal sacrifices to care for all in need.
Heavenly Father, we pray for our nation, especially for those
most at risk. We pray for all carers and for those who are very ill and frail.
We pray for their safety and mental and spiritual well-being.
We offer you our own worries for the future and pray for
courage and strength to face the days ahead. Hold us and help us all to feel
your strengthening and loving presence and to know that nothing can separate us
from your love in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(You)
have been borne by me from your birth,
carried from the womb;
even to your old age I am he,
even when you turn grey I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. Isaiah 46:3,4
